Day 4 Promise 4 Genesis 8:20 And Noah built an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Have you been given a second chance when things went bad for you and you didn’t think you had a hope of anything going right ever again? God gave man a second chance after he flooded the earth wiping every living thing from the earth except for Noah, his three sons, and two and seven of every animal and bird He created. God made a promise to Himself and Noah stating He would never destroy the earth with a flood again. And He promised that as long as the earth remained it would go through her seasons along with day and night. Since the flood, the earth has had its seasons. There have been floods, but not total earth-destroying floods. God kept His promise to preserve mankind on the earth despite the wickedness of their hearts. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (KJV) Take advantage of your second chance and turn to God who created you. Accept His second chance for your life as you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, the ultimate second chance. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving me a second chance at life.
