We Carry the Burden

I literally just wrote this one, trying to keep in mind the events of the last few days, a reminder of both the power of love and not hate, and this may not make me popular, but hate does not know any political party!
We carry the burden
Of a generation lost
When so many turn to violence
For the answers that
Can only be found
In love.
We carry the burden
Of lives lost
When little boys.
And Little girls
Use real guns
As the solution
To problems
That they do
Not understand.
We carry the burden
Of grief
When innocent lives
Are slaughtered
Because they have
Given hate a power.
We carry the burden
Of a generation lost
When we do not
Show the power of love
Instead of hate.
