The end of civilization as we know it

Yesterday I was watching the Chicago Cubs soundly thrash the Oakland Athletics when the camera zoomed in on a lady eating a hotdog. Now an average of 17,000 hotdogs are consumed at every Cubs game so a lady eating one would not, in itself, be unusual. EXCEPT SHE WAS EATING IT WITH A FORK!!! Who on God's green Earth eats a hotdog with a fork. I tell you, it's the end of civilization as we know it.

What sport was this? Not that it matters for the point at issue, but if you don't know who the "Cubs" are it leaves a little mystery in the air.

Sorry. Baseball. Are there any others? :) The Cubs are one of two teams in Chicago but the other one doesn't really matter.

@garysibi Thanks. The problem with American sports teams - for a Brit - is that they all seem to consist of a place name followed by a nickname, no matter whether it is baseball, American football, basketball, ice hockey or anything else. Very confusing!

@indexer Now you know how I feel when I hear Manchester United. United against what? Can't we all just get along?
