Red Dragonfly

This morning, having spotted a blue dragonfly on our elderberries, a couple of nights ago Adam spotted this beautiful red dragonfly sitting on the edge of our pond. It's lovely to see that we're now getting a diverse range of wildlife in and around our garden. This year we've seen creatures in and around our garden that we haven't seen for years. Perhaps the small steps local occupants are taking to help the environment are working! I have tried to ensure I have a range of old fashioned flowers in my garden which probably helps. We can often hear foxes in the woodland beyond the meadow which adjoins our garden but last night at around 10.00 a fox was barking just beyond the end of our garden. It was too dark to be able to see it but it was very loud. Again, lovely to know we still have them in the area.

That sounds lovely. We live in an apartment, and we enjoy sitting out on the porch in the evening and listen to the crickets. We put a few birdbaths out, and the Robin's really enjoy that. We don't get to really plant flowers and a garden so we don't get to see the full spectrum of wildlife. Your very fortunate to be able to enjoy such beauty.

Having lots of plants and flowers will attract critters.

Talking about Dragon fly, I had one this afternoon flying around my bulb light inside my room. It was a combination of blue and green.
