A good long day...I am too tired.

I told about the workshop that I was invited for. I am back from there. I could not get a cab in time and so drove to a far venue. And that has left me a bit tired.
But it was a wonderful seminar. I felt so empowered. The speakers were great and they kept the session interactive and engaging throughout. They could so well speak from the perspective of a parent and an educator. I am happy that in our traditional society where sexuality and discussions around it is still a taboo, we are coming out with forums in public to talk about it and discuss it in open. That is a promising start. And I was glad that two of the speakers were in their late 60's and still so progressive in their thoughts and talk.
I got to meet new people there and made few friends and I am going to stay in touch with them. After all it's being a part of community who are working for these special need citizens and their rights.
As soon as came back, my husband offered a hot cup of ginger tea. We talked over the cup of tea and even my daughters had valuable contribution to the talk around sexuality. I am glad that we have kept that channel of communication open for our children.
I am fresh after a hot shower. I made the dinner in morning and now it's only heating and eating left for us. I knew that I will have no energy to cook once I am back. So glad I cooked before leaving.
I will watch TV, mylot and sleep when I will feel like.
How was your day? Enjoy mylotting!

Nice to know that though you had a hectic day, at the end you had a purposeful and satisfying day! Yes, with the changing times people are also getting changed and they are becoming bold and frank in putting forth the ideas about sexuality and related topics for the positive changes in the society!

Yes all the effort to drive there was worth. It was a wonderful seminar with some really good speakers. And they are doing so much in the field. I agree that we have started taking baby steps. Sweeping things under carpet does not mean that it does not exist.

@arunima25 , Very well said! Charity begins at the home! When we were in school we were asked to fill up a form every year and in that there used to be a column where we were suppose ti write our weakness! When we asked why is this important when we grew up, the teachers told us that, first we should know our weaknesses then only we can try to get rid of them! Your reply reminds me that! Nice to know that you are impressed and got motivated!

I would say we are on a progressive way but it is still a taboo. I remember when LGBT got their rights from SC in country, many voices of so called progressive and educated people came to slam it.

@allknowing Such traits are psychological sickness and are crime but being homosexual and asexual is not a sickness and has to be accepted in society.

I am glad you and your daughter talk openly and needed thing on that topic because always aware from it because in our country parents generally not like to talk with their children on that topic. Yes it was a good workshop as I have mentioned. Yes we try to keep our communication channels open with our children, We always felt that children have a mind of their own and we need to listen to it.
