I have A Serious Question

They just showed something about kids getting Timeouts. I still do not know what that does.
I lived in Era where there was no time outs and had to stand in the corner. Does that make me old?
It is serious I will take a time out if it makes me younger.

I grew up having to stand in a corner, but I also got the lecture to go with it. I got spankings too, it just depended on who was disciplining me.
I don't know how effective time out's are anymore. Now it seems you take the devices away from kids, that's punishment for them.

@crossbones27 It's horrible how we can be so dependent on technology. Yeah, I saw something about a woman who went to jail for grounding her child. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous, and I wondered at the validity of the source, but still...

@ScribbledAdNauseum Nothing is that surprising anymore. Check the sources if can but even when have it right, go yeah I can see that happening now.

I still think that once in a while and for some reasons, a brat must have a spank on the butt. Not much, but to learn who is the boss. Today, children know a lot of technology, but have no idea about being responsible and respectful.

Indeed, a computer does not teach you manners, it could but not the same when mom goes, excuse me, stop, say thank you. Stop, open the door for the lady, that is called being a gentlemen.

we never got "timeouts".we got a straight "go to your room".they didn't even wanna see us.

Time outs we're always so odd i got them in school alot lol go stand and stare at the wall is what i was told.... lol

Well I guess the same thing then. They just did not say time out I hated being in front of the class standing at the corner wall. Look back and everyone laughing at you.

I got whipped with a switch and a belt one time each. I guess did the trick since only happened once.
