There will be hardly any person who does not like to be praised.It is said if someone is praising you before you , it means he wants his some motive to be served or making a fool of you.Some persons refuse to be praised but it means they want to be praised more and more.
There is a Welsh proverb-
Praise the wise man behind his back , but a woman to her face.
Socrates writes-
Think not those more faithful who praise all thy words and actions , but those who kindly reprove thy faults.
I think that they are certainly wise who you to your face but they are are certainly fools who listen to it.

That is the weakness of a person the get entrapped to the trap of praising! That is the reason behind the downfall of many kingdoms and estates. The people who people in the name of praising they boot ;lick the people in power and they never let their so called masters to know when they are ditching them. The masters who think themselves as Lions are ditches by these wicked foxes!

@sunilmishra7756 , Yes, there is a proverb in southern language which says that over flattery is the trait of a cheater! So it is always wise to stay away from the people who try to flatter us every moment!
