Time for another act that I’d vote for inducting into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame if I had a vote. Of course, I don’t, so all I can do is steal @teamfreak16 ‘s idea where he listed ten of his favorite glaring omissions. Here’s one of the bands I think would be a “poster child” for the separation of inductions by decade.
#6: Little Feat
Jimmy Page loved ‘em. Linda Ronstadt covered ‘em. The Dixie Chicks are named after one of their songs.
Back in the 70s Little Feat, much like the Dead, were concert favorites and FM rock staples. Formed after Lowell George was kicked out of the Mothers of Invention, Little Feat delighted concert crowds and record buyers (all of their albums were “gold”), as well as the FM rock listeners.
When the “superstars” format took over in the late 70s Little Feat was one of those bands that “didn’t qualify” because they weren’t selling in the Rumours or Hotel California stratosphere. As a result, unless you have a really good FM station, you haven’t heard these guys on the radio since Lowell George died in 1979.
That doesn’t mean they didn’t have the success.
One of my favorite Little Feat songs, which Linda Ronstadt later made her own:
Little Feat performing Willin' probably their best known song. Written by and sung here by the hugely talented and sadly missed Lowell George Live in 1977. W...

She soooo nailed that song. If you remember, I did a countdown of my favorite cover versions, and her rendition of “Willin’” was at the top. I mean, it’s (Scott needs to come here and give us some F-bombs) fabulous.

@FourWalls Scott is busy being "G u i d o" for me. He's going to "lean on" my band leader in the rock band.

Kind of surprising that they aren't in, considering that they were totally a Jann Wenner type of band.
Maybe it's the Tonapah reference. All Tonapah was ever good for was when we stopped for a bathroom break on our way to the other side of Nevada for a football game or track meet in White Pine.
