Several years ago I was involved in a car accident. The road were icy and I was on a three lane highway. I lost control and was facing the wrong directions with cars coming at me. Since I was not in control I simply stopped. I let go of the steering wheel, I didn't touch the brakes or the gas. I figured there was nothing I could do to help the situation. There was an overpass and my car slid up under between two posts. One of the mirrors ripped off and I had hit another car somewhere along the way. My car came to a stop and it was clearly sitting where it was going to slide down back on the freeway. I chose to cry. Men holding hands to keep from sliding came from the top to get me out of the car. They said take off your seat belt. Of course I had to think and talk about that. "Promise me that you will tell my Dad I had it on when I wrecked." The car started sliding I yanked off the seat belt and they pulled me through the window. The car slid back onto the freeway. Cars were damaged but no one was hurt. (I still can't figure that out.) The policeman made be get in the damaged car and drive it 5 miles down to the next exit. He said "If I don't make you do this you will never drive a car again. You have to do it. We limped the car the five miles on a service road and I cried the entire time. It took a long time. A family member got there before we did and they were no near the area. It was a quote that I read that reminded me of this. It's been at least 25 years ago maybe longer. It's odd what might trigger a memory. Photo Credit Pixabay

I'm glad no one was injured. What a horrible memory!

You know what, it wasn't all bad. When I let go of the wheel it was kind of calming. It was completely out of my hands.
