Why does silicon get sticky?

For any science-minded types, do you happen to know why things made of silicon, such as baking cups, and my magnetic necklace, get sticky to the touch after a while? I also have an emergency lantern that is made of soft plastic which I assume has some silicon in it. All I know about silicon is that it makes magma more viscous and is very abundant all over the earth. I'm assuming it's the combination with plastic or rubber that is causing the seep of icky sticky something that is hard to wash off. My next question would be how to get it off!

Pb and cream cheese keto snack made with silicone ice cube trays
Lol. I only recently began using silicone molds for my fat bombs for keto snacks, (pic below or above) and I will say the molds are hard to clean but I think mine have an oddly shaped bottom that seem to hold food residue easier. I've not run into the sticky issue yet but will keep a lookout.

I assume your spellcheck changed the first "residue" into "reused". Gotta love spellcheck. They get the nasty film after a couple years.

@petatonicsca thanks. It's somewhat like spell check but it not much better. I checked it for as close to what I think I was trying to say. The bottom of the trays are not like a box shape. It's hard to explain. It's almost like they put a hexagonal type shape into the bottom so there are extra sides down in. Sort of.
