Never before has this happened! It was VERY STRANGE

The story I am going to tell is real. It happened late last night 12:30 am ET (really it was very early morning). An hour or two earlier, a big thunderstorm, rain and wind happened. Right before the storm, the night air was thick as can be. It hadn't rained much in days. There was also at one point a bang of thunder that really sounded like a bomb going off! So, when the storm came, my husband and I think , nocturnal animals got freaked out. Because, exactly at 12:30 am, my husband and I lay down in our bed to turn off the light and go to sleep. But before I turned off the light, I had to get one thing from the bathroom. As I came back into the bedroom, the air conditioning came on. (our air conditioning unit sits right out side next to our bedroom window). Then all of a sudden, I say, "what is that smell" and my husband smelled it too. It smelled like a skunk! Our bedroom had a skunk smell in it! We ran to the front door and opened it, but no smell. Then we went to our sun room and did smell a skunk and smelled it more when we opened it's door. We think a skunk was walking through our yard, and as he was walking right past our air conditioning unit, some animal scared it and he let off his spray and it got into our bedroom vent and entered our bedroom! Our bedroom doors were closed and the sun room was closed off so the smell wouldn't go to the other areas of the house. We fell asleep, but an hour later, I awoke and still smelled it a little. By this morning it was gone. It wasn't too oppressive but it was enough to be bothered by it some. But isn't that crazy?
