National Relaxation Day National Lemon Meringue Pie Day 1519 - Panama City, Panama is founded. 1939 - The Wizard of Oz premiers at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, California. 1969 - The Woodstock Music & Art Fair opens in upstate New York. 1912 - Julia Child (see below) was born. She was an American chef, author and TV personality. Her debut cookbook was Mastering the Art of French Cooking which was over 700 pages. Volume 2 was published in 1971. The French Chef aired from 1963-1973. The 70s and 80s brought more TV shows and more cookbooks. She died in 2004. 1972 - Ben Affleck was born. He is an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter. He has received 2 Academy Awards, 3 Golden Globes, 2 BAFTAs and 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Some of his movies include: Dazed and Confused, Mallrats, Good Will Hunting, Armageddon, Forces of Nature, Pearl Harbor, The Sum of All Fears, Hollywoodland, The Town, Argo, Gone Girl, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, The Accountant, Live by Night and Triple Frontier.
