Scared us!

We had just put the kids to bed. We had been hearing some thunder off and on. I was sitting my bed upstairs my husband was down stairs waiting at the door for a delivery. When all of a sudden, a lighting hit so close by you could see the yellow flash through the window. The thunder was so loud it was right above our house. I rushed out of room and told my husband to check to make sure that big tree out form of our house wasn’t just hit. Because if it was we don’t won’t a fire to start.
Thankfully it wasn’t hit but holy cow it scared us all. My 8 year old was so scared she was screaming for me. The boys jumped but stayed in there room. I had to resure the kids that it was nothing just some loud thunder.

In my neighborhood a lightning strike can cause a minor shaking of the home for just a few seconds that scares me a lot.

I was riding as a passenger in a car that got struck by lightning. Fried all the electronics in the car and scared the holy crap out of me and the driver. And yes, even cars can get struck by lightning! Did you read about that motorcyclist who got killed when he was struck by lightning riding his motorcycle on his way home from work? It was in Daytona Beach, FL.

I didn’t hear about but I do know lighting can and will hit anything. My husband had told em a story about him and his dad driving once and lighting hit right outside of the car they where driving. He remember how loud it was how bright it was and the heat from it.

@moffittjc we don’t have regular tv. We have streaming online in the house so I don’t watch the news much.

@ShyBear88 Did you see the video on the Weather Channel where the guy was walking down the sidewalk holding his umbrella and a bolt of lightning struck the ground right next to him? Fortunately, he was okay, but I'm sure he pooped his pants when that happened! lol

The rain and thunder lasted a few hours ago. That happens at 8pm and it’s not 12am.

We have thunder and lightning like that in June. May is the start of the rainy season here and usually in June we get terrible thunder and lightning.

We get rain through outs the year but summer is know for Thunderstorms.

@ShyBear88 Summer here is really summer. Hot with no rain at all. It's the perfect season to go to the beach, waterfalls, cold springs, etc.
