Chemical burn from depilatory

I wanted the hair gone off my legs, so I had my daughter put a cream depilatory on them. It started to burn before 3 minutes were up, but it want burning too awful much. So the hair didn't all melt off. I had her put a second coat on my legs and it started to burn really bad almost immediately. She washed it off and my legs were red and swelled in the burning area. The next day every hair hole and every pore were blood stained. I put a kleenex over the burned area and pressed down slightly. I saw little specks of blood on the tissue. I took a picture of my left leg today. It is much better now. It doesn't hurt anymore but still looks like thousands of blood specks. I'm not going to write the name of the product, for obvious reasons. I used to use depilatories all the time when I was younger. Now I'm older and have thinner skin. Mess may also make my skin fragile.

Sorry to hear this happened to you :( I don’t think it’s bad to write the name of the product? That way we could avoid this product. It is your thoughts & honest opinion just didn’t work out for you

I don't know if we can, because the company may say I am dissing their product. It is a very well known brand.

@OreoBrownie don’t think you would be dissing the company at all. It just didn’t work for you. But you do not have to share if you don’t feel comfortable - no worries!

Not at all. I was younger when I used to use it. My skin is much more fragile now.

I used to use it with no problems but my skin has changed. You see the holes that were in my leg. It healed, but got inflamed and we thought there was an infection. The doc said it is okay.
