We had our 4th time having back to school nfiht. This year the kids have two different types for back to school night because of there grades. 1-2 was from 6-7pm and 3-5th had 7-8pm. Principal B said if anyone had kids in the 3-5th which he knows there is a lot of siblings to skip come back to sit through the PTA talk and stuff and jsur hang out of which ever classroom your kids belong in. So we hit the second grade teachers room. Filled out the papers need. Wrote a first day of school note to my son and reminding him to meet his sister our front and go to the trash can at the top Of the hill. Went through his teachers slide show about she self, schedule, home work, and a few other things. After that we took a bathroom break, while waiting for the 3rd grade teachers to make to our daughters class. She has two teachers, her regular one and her resource teacher. We where one of the few back to back kids in grades with siblings. So we filled out papers and waited for the rest of the parents to show up. I took note of who’s in our girls class. She at the front of the class like she is suppose to be so that’s good. Her teacher when through there slide show and information about the classrooms. What they will be doing and so on. Once done we went on our way to eat dinner and back to the kids. Can’t believe next year we will have to do it 3 times one for each of our 3 kids.

Back to school night, is for parents to meet there children’s teachers before the start of the school year. This is when us parents can get most of the school paper works like how kids get home, things about there child, any school paper changed that need to be made. Kids go to school day time only for 6 hours Monday-Friday. No sleeping at the school its not boarding school.

@ShyBear88 oh, it's very nice. It seems like the parent meeting here. However, it holds at the mid-term.

We are doing a really cool thing this year in partnership with our school district. In our city's recreation centers, we serve hundreds of kids, many who come from low-income families. The schools use a lot of websites now for homework assignments, and most of the kids we serve don't have laptops, or access to computers or internet. So we wrote and received a grant to buy Chromebooks for all our recreation centers, and the school board sent their I.T. staff to pre-load them with all the apps and websites that the schools use for homework and classroom instruction. Now, when the kids come to the recreation centers for after-school, they all have their own Chromebook they check out to do their homework with. What a great way for the kids to start their new school year!

@moffittjc I think we get a good school discount since we have bought more and more each year. Us PTA vote and what the kids want during the school walk a thin pays for it. We made a huge amount last year that we have extra for this year and hider an IT teacher that works just the kids tablets and macs. They get chrom books in 6th grade.
