Who should pay for the first date?

When I was a younger, my parents always told me that the guy should be a gentleman. As a result, the guy should always pay on the first time, so that’s what I grew up with. Now, a lot of people think that the times are changing. My friend Fay is a seller, she told me that she could earn much more money than other men, she did not care about who pay for the bill on the first date. If she asked him out and she would pay. Some guys around me think that they should pay the bill because it’s a tradition.
A part of people think that women have equal social status with men in modern society, there are so many women that make more money that they are, why not split the bill.
So, what do you think, my dear friends, what did you deal with the bill on your first date?

Of course if I am capable to pay the bill definitely I will go to pay the bill

By custom, I always pay on the first date, but I'm sure that is changing, and I think that the ideal would be to share the bill.

I think the guy should pay the bill on the fist day, and then just see what happens on the second or third date.

For me, whoever asks for the date should pay for the bill. Doesn't matter what the gender is.

I dealt with embarrassment on the first date as I wearing pjs and I didn't want to worry about appearance but be present on time to her first date...welp I had to pay bills because she left without a drink or food offered seeing my dressing

Naturally it's the man. If the girl will pay, why question it? If both of them will pay why oppose it?

Who asked who out? usually the men, pay , but something you can work out maybe offer to pay half, if you want.

The guy should pay. He is trying to win the girl and impress her. May sound archaic but i think it is nased on some natural laws

I am a man and I would pay, Cos sometimes you have to be a gentleman. But I have been on dates and the lady said it's ok I will pay for mine. So just said, well I will pay for the meals and you pay for drinks then. Then both get to pay
