Well tonight my big girl had read for 20 minutes. It was her first night of home work. Since at bed time we are suppose to read why no. She read for 15 minutes to her brothers. Then the last five minutes with just me. She picks a Frog and Toad book. The boys where a little rude with not wanting to be quite while she read and one even said but that’s not our story for bed. Gave the mom look.

My daughter used to read to my son when they were little. It was a great way for her to practice her reading. I always enjoyed letting my kids read to me as well.

I love listening and some times me and there dad will still read to them if we have time to. Or we tell a the boy who cries wolf. The kids like those old fables.

@moffittjc my kids is Brown Bear, Brown Bear. I can recite it without looking. So when the kids read to us that one we tell them doesn’t count as reading since they could have just be reciting it from us reading it a lot.

@ShyBear88 I always thought it was funny that my kids had particularly favorite stories that they wanted me to read over and over to them, even though they knew every word by heart. But then I think back to my own childhood, and it was the same way with me. My favorite was The Little Engine That Could. I had my mom read it to me every day!

It's really sweet of her to read to her brothers. My girls sometimes want to read to their brother, and it's just so cute. Gotta love those moments.

Both the older two can read. Just one got assigned reading home work and the other didn’t.

@ShyBear88 That is cute she is reading. Brings back memories of when I first started learning to read. All the best with her reading.

She has been reading since 1st grade but reading in general for her is a challenge in itself. It was her home work so she read and I listed corrected her where it was need or asked her to try it one more time.

@VivaLaDani13 she reads at a level 1 we are working on getting her to a level 3 which would be a 3rd grade level but I understand it’s difficult I went through a similar thing as a kid and stuff struggle now.

She has been wading since 1st grade she does like it and reads often but has a hard time getting the words correct so in general reading nightly is normal for her. It was part of home work so if I figured it would cover the bed time story for the night as well.
