Forced Military Service?

I saw a post on a message board where a person was whining that his adult child wouldn't join the military. I wholeheartedly respect men & women who take on the burden of military service, but FORCING someone to do so is another matter entirely.
Maybe some simply don't want someone else's blood on their hands, or a loss of life on their conscience. I can respect that.
What do you all say?

Well, since there's no draft you can't force someone to serve. I like @MALUSE idea to do some civil service.

@MALUSE I'm talking about those that don't enlist in the United States.

Yes I agree with you that is a job that you can force some one to do.

My brother also in Indian Army so I don't think that there is need to force anything.
