The countdown marches on. 50 songs with "of" in the title, not ranked in any particular order, rather, I'm just going with whatever song I happen to be feeling at the time. We are already at #38: "Temple of Love" by The Sisters of Mercy.
Gee, my apologies, but I don't think that I have written about The Sisters of Mercy before. (Insert audience laughter here.) (Insert "Oh God, not The damn Sisters of Mercy again" here.) (Insert "At least it's not Bauhaus again" here.) (Insert "Peter Murphy is recovering from his heart attack and doing well" here.) (Insert "Get on with the F-Bomb discussion!" here.)
With deep-voiced singer Andrew Eldritch being the band's only constant member, The Sisters of Mercy formed in Leeds, England in 1980 because they wanted to hear themselves on the radio. Early on, the goth legends released a crapload of singles, one of which was a 1983 12-inch, "Temple of Love." It didn't chart, but is a bona fide goth classic tune. (Seriously, it's bloody fantastic!)
By 1990, Eldritch, who hated the "goth" label with a passion, had moved the group into a more guitar-heavy (or, rather, heavy-guitar) (or, rather, loud guitar) sound. In 1992, to make it mesh with the new direction, he and whoever the hell was in the group at that point grabbed the late, great Ofra Haza and remade the song with the Israeli singer on guest backup vocals.
"Temple of Love (1992,)" also known as "Temple of Love (Touched by the Hand of Ofra Haza,)" did chart, reaching #3 in the UK, Top 20 in Austria, Germany, and Ireland, and #24 in Sweden.
The Sisters of Mercy. Ofra Haza. And now you know!
(R.I.P., Ofra. I love you.)

Haha, like how you sounded true English, says Colorado, but could of swore you were from Leeds yourself and do love that deep voice, I have a deep voice but can never sound like that. Harder than it looks.

When I was in the Army, one of my buddies was like "Why don't you just get it over with and move to England?" because I listened to so many British bands.

@teamfreak16 That is funny how people pick up on that. People always ask me are you from the country? Originally yes but Lived in California since I was 11 and do pick up accents and when in Marines all my original roommates where from the south so picked up their accent and funny thing is next set of Roommates from the North had the New York and New Jersey accents but that did not stick with me as well as the south accent. People still tell me you sound like you should be living in the country.

@crossbones27 - You should move to Mayberry. You would fit right in there!
