Day 23 Promise 25 Genesis 26:1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, “Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham thy father; 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” (KJV) Are you part of a promise someone made to your parents or previous generations? God made a promise to Abraham that he would be the father of many nations and his seed would be as many as the stars in the sky. He reiterated that promise to Isaac and told him not to go to Egypt when a famine hit the land for the second time. It wasn’t time to go to Egypt. That day would come when God would fulfill the promise to Abraham to bring His people out of bondage. So far, there were only two children, not the many that would become a nation that would occupy the countries of Canaan. Yet, God promised Isaac his seed would occupy those countries. God’s timing is perfect. If you face a hopeless situation? If you go from one crisis to another with no answers only more problems, remember God is still in control. He will bring about the miracle in your life. You only need to trust Him. Let’s pray: Father, thank you that in You, Your promises are yea and amen. Your timing is perfect.
