This 50-song countdown of tunes with "of" in the title is now well under way. The ranking is in no particular order, rather, just what I happen to be feeling at the time, and things are about to get a tad weird. We are at #36: "The Revenge of Vera Gemini" by Blue Oyster Cult. "The Revenge of Vera Gemini" is a non-single from Blue Oyster Cult's platinum 1976 album, Agents of Fortune (the last track on side one, in fact!) Because it wasn't a single, and therefore not a hit, it's often referred to as an "underrated" tune by the group, but nah, there's nothing underrated about this one. It (F-Bomb) rocks! And it's just a little bit twisted. Bonus! "Vera Gemini" is one of many collaborations between Blue Oyster Cult and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame punk poetess Patti Smith. Smith was romantically linked with BOC keyboardist Allen Lanier for a number of years, and wrote a few songs with the band. "Vera Gemini" was co-written by Smith and drummer Albert Bouchard. Bouchard handles vocal duties (each band member performed some lead vocals on the album,) with Smith singing backup, turning the tune into a disturbing duet from the point of view of lovers that literally want to kill each other. But it's seriously (F-Bomb) awesome! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I thought sort of mellow in sound for them.

I do like Buck Dharma's guitar solo a lot. Then again, I like all of his solos!
