"The Camel Story"

In my last post I mentioned that I wanted to tell you a story I heard about a camel. I heard it through my dad the other day as we were talking about how people can be cruel to animals.
So my dad was listening to a radio station he likes. There is a segment on this station where one of the hosts talks about what he learned during the day. So apart from talking about what he learned about camels, he also wanted to share a story involving a camel.
I apologise that I don't know the start of the story and I don't want to go ask my dad right now as he is sleeping. But some dude was travelling somewhere on a camel. I don't know when this took place or where exactly but somewhere in Australia at least. I think this was when camels were first introduced to Australia. Anyway, one day the dude got off his camel for whatever reason, and as he was walking away from the camel, the camel went to kneel down, and the gun that this man had discharged and shot the man and killed him.
When the authorities found out what happened, they put the camel down. They killed the camel.
This story angered me so much. It was not the camel's fault. Please tell me the last time you heard a camel use it's foot to trigger a gun?
It was just an accident. But the camel's life was put to an end?
I find it stupid and morbid how people can be....well stupid and morbid towards innocent animals. It's like some surfers here. Some surfers have been bitten by sharks but have never gone on a witch hunt to kill the shark because they know that the ocean is the shark's territory!
Or people who will purposely agitate an animal, the animal attacks and then people want to put it down for being "dangerous." Oh it annoys the crap out of me!
SORRY an edit: I did some research and the story is a bit different. Apparently it was actually the camel bumping into the man while the man was loading his gun. And that's how the man got shot. But the ending is still the same. Sadly the man and the camel still died. I just spoke to my dad now and he said "Sorry you're right that is the story. That's what was said. I remember now." Silly goose.
It happens but yes, that is what happened. The camel bumped into the guy.
Still, what do you think? Should the camel have been put to death from an accident?

Sh*tvlike That happens here all the time. An alligator attacks a dog that got too close to the water. Solution: kill the gator. A bear rummages through a neighbor’s garbage. Solution: kill the bear. It’s pathetic. Humans are the ones who are encroaching in the animals’ habitats, so why is it the animal’s fault?

@moffittjc Oh it sure does and it annoys the heck out of me! It's so illogical! It just adds to my long list of Why People Suck!

I think the camel still should be given the leverage of mistake....animals aren't equally literate as human. They can do things with no wrong intends and at times even human do too. That doesn't mean you put an someone to a life sentence just because he mistakenly caught the place a fire.

@tech40 No idea. Could have been for any reason. I guess we will never know. Was such a long time ago and no witnesses. I feel bad for both of them.

It is a totally stupid idea to execute a living being who is not aware of his acts as animals, in fact it is unconstitutional or it should be, since the law or legislation is for human beings, I am a lawyer and it is simply stupid who defines this Judgment of executing the camel, is a way of obtaining justice to say that there was a culprit and was executed, they are stupid.

@VivaLaDani13 Thank you, it is not only an empty comment, you have really made many people see the unfair side of some things, perhaps that way we are raising our voice in protest to those innocent who do not deserve to be executed, even if they are animals . Regards Dani!

That's sad. I feel bad for the camel as well as the person. But you rightly said that we try to overpower the weaker ones. No one goes to kill the shark.

It is same here too. You cut the forest and built homes. Wild animals like elephants, tiger, monkeys, etc have nowhere to go so they roam around to find there home which no longer exists. They *encroach* human habitats and predictably someone gets hurt. Animal gets shot down.

@dya80dya Yes it really wasn't the poor camel's fault at all.
