Another climate change alarmist fraud

A photo from Greenland showing sled dogs pulling a sled through water instead of snow. It is being portrayed as evidence of global warming. It's not. It's called summer in Greenland.

@garysibi The original naming of the place as Greenland was actually a scam! The idea was to attract settlers there as opposed to icy Iceland. Some settlement did indeed take place, but to nothing like the extent that was intended - the reason being that only a tiny part of the territory was ever green.

It is still summer here in Calgary, Alberta . . but it is going to snow a bit tomorrow . . Is it because of global warming?! I don't think so.

It`s a question of balance. Yes - there is always summer melting, but in the past this has always been balanced by winter freezing. The problem now is that the melting is exceeding the freezing to the extent that there is a net loss of ice in Greenland.
This pattern has been seen in many places - glaciers have retreated all over the world because the balance has been disturbed.

Do you know what has been uncovered by some of the recent melting? Airplanes left behind by the US Army at the end of World War II. In other words the ice that is melting is not particularly old. It's not a big deal.

@garysibi I think you've just proved that it is - a big deal, that is. What has happened, therefore, is that in the years since the planes were abandoned - I believe that they crashed into snow and were buried quite quickly - the summer melt was always matched by winter snowfall and freezing, or even exceeded by the latter. However, in very recent years the melting has outstripped freezing to such an extent that the planes have come to light - I find that to be very worrying indeed.

@indexer First of all, the planes didn't crash. There was a base there. The planes were abandoned.
When you are talking about climate change, 80 years is absolutely nothing. If we were starting to see the remains of the Vikings, then you'd have a point but this is almost within my own lifetime. It's called weather. It happens.

Back in the late 1960s I read a book called THE POPULATION BOMB which said that population growth would destroy us all by 1980 at the latest but here we are and doing quite well.
