Category 4 Hurricane

United States
August 30, 2019 8:28pm CST
I was hoping it wouldn't turn into a category 4. I am concerned for my friends and those strangers that are in the path. I hope they are mindful and do everything in their power to prepare for the brace. I can not even imagine how terrifying it must be. The unknown factor terrifies me the most I think.

I saw some video clips from the Bahamas today. The damage is horrible.

@just4him It's a combination of the area covered by the storm, the velocity of the wind, and the fact that Dorian is only moving forward at 1 mph. Even the "hurricane-proof" buildings cannot withstand that.

After the loss of my husband and winding up completely alone I have no fear for the Lord is with me. I have plenty of food and drink. Last year all hurricanes passed us by in Daytona Beach and this year we will get some more of the same. Lots of wild wind and heavy rain

Right now they are looking for a direct hit in South or North Carolina. Wherever it goes, I hope that the people are prepared and safe.

As of right now meteorologists are still expecting it to drop to a cat 3 by Monday when it hits Florida. The bigger concern right now is that the various computer models all have Dorian making landfall in a different part of Florida than all the others. We need to keep the situation in our prayers.

I know how you are feeling since I have experienced the terrible wrath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 when my late mom and myself went to stay with relatives in the North Shore of New Orleans.

That must have been a scary experience.

@garysibi It was scary being inside the home during the storm when it passed over the home in Pine Louisiana which is a very small town in the North Shore.

@Deepizzaguy I've never been in a hurricane - we don't get many in Chicago - but once I was in a tropical depression (two notches below Cat 1). That was enough for me.
