My Thoughts On Food Banks

When I briefly lived/visited out in California a few years ago, and was literally nearly starving to death, I'd have appreciated a food bank. In my view, there is no shame in going to such places if you're actually in need. They are DESIGNED to help the struggling hungry, after all. I read earlier about people resorting to eating DOG FOOD, that is just sad. I'd tell anyone, if you're struggling to feed yourself and/or your family, don't resort to things like dog food. Go find a food bank, there's no shame in asking for any kind of help if you need it.

I ran a food bank at a church once. I asked no questions.

Eating dog food makes no sense to me. It's probably more expensive than a Dollar Tree can of pea soup or a McDonalds McChicken.

They treat you like a criminal who is just trying to steal other people's food.

Not where I live. We greet you at the door and say what can we help you find. Where are you from?

This is a good post!! A list of places that offer free meals and give food away should be passed around!! I go to eat at church on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!! Glad u found a food bank!!

There's no shame in it. In a lot of cases your tax money paid for some of these services.
