Day 32 Promise 35 Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, “Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.” 2 And God spoke unto Moses, and said unto him, “I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched-out arm, and with great judgments: 7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am the LORD.” 9 And Moses spoke so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage. When things are at their worst, God is at His best. God told Moses what Pharaoh would do when he went to him to request that he let Israel go into the desert to worship God. Yet Moses didn’t understand, and neither did the people. God promised Moses and His people that He would bring them out of their bondage, but it would be at a price and Egypt would pay the price through the signs and wonders He would bring on Egypt before Pharaoh would let Israel leave Egypt. Are you going through a tough situation? Which of God’s promises are you standing on? Continue to stand because God has never failed to keep His promise to His people. When Moses went to Pharaoh to demand Israel’s release from bondage, Pharaoh increased their burden. When you stand on God’s promise, Satan will increase the trouble he brings against you. You need to stand firm on God’s promise and you too will see your burdens lifted and removed as God brings you out of all your trouble. Jesus told His disciples what would happen because they followed Him. Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye who speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you. 21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he who endures to the end shall be saved. As Christians, you need to rely on the Holy Spirit to teach you and hold fast to God and He will deliver you and save you, even if saving you means your physical death. Your salvation is secure when you trust Jesus. Remember, they can kill the body, but not the soul. Only God can kill the soul. Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (KJV) Moses asked the people to believe God would deliver them from bondage. It would take many signs and wonders before they would believe God was with them to save them from their bondage and lead them to the Promised Land, the land flowing with milk and honey. What is holding you in bondage? Believe God to bring you out with a mighty hand and stretched-out arm. He is the only one who can redeem you. Let’s pray: Father, help me believe You will keep Your promise to me to bring me out of Satan’s bondage. Let those who don’t believe you, see You at work in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Thank you for this reading. I went to church last Sunday and all I got was a freaking letter from a bishop about nature day or something, no sermon any kind.
