Day 34
Promise 37
Exodus 9:13 And the LORD said unto Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou may know that there is none like me in all the earth.
15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.”
Has someone tried to get your attention and persuade you to change your ways but you refuse, believing you have all the answers? Has trouble come your way to the point you can’t breathe with everything coming against you?
God sent Moses to Pharaoh to let His people go, yet no matter what plague God caused on Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh hardened his heart and refused to acknowledge God or let Israel go.
God had told Moses Pharaoh would harden his heart so he could bring all the signs and wonders against Egypt and they would know He alone was God.
Exodus 3:19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. (KJV)
God sent the plagues of water turned to blood, frogs, flies, lice, boils on man and beast, yet nothing changed Pharaoh’s heart, though he started to relent, but as soon as the plague ended, his heart turned to stone again and he would not let Israel go. God sent Moses to Pharaoh with the message that He did this to show him His power.
God wants your attention. He wants you to know He alone is God and He can bring calamities against you until you relent and acknowledge He alone is God.
What will it take for you to acknowledge God is God alone and there is no other? God doesn’t want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV)
What is God doing to get your attention?
Let’s pray: Father, soften my heart. Show me who You are and lead me in the way You want me to go. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
