On You Tube I have seen a Canadian program called Til Debt do us part by Gail Vaz Oxlade. She looks at the couple's finances for the last six months and tells them were they are spending too much. One couple spent $300 on bank charges! She gives them a set of tins with money in. Like one for food, one for transport, one for entertainment, one for clothes and gifts plus a last one for other. They get given four challenges and if they win at these they can earn up to $5,000.
What do you think of this?

That's so interesting. I like these kinds of shows because they can be so helpful. Now if only I made enough money to actually be irresponsible with haha

Yes, some of these people earn big salaries and yet they are so foolish with their money. If a couple don't earn enough she gets them to do odd jobs which is very amusing. One lady took out loads of dogs at a time! Her husband worked as a disk jockey to make their earnings higher.

@DesirousDreamer I can see you have always been poor, so has your mamma and your grandma. Yes, it would be amazing to adopt a lot of animals. There would be a lot of satisfaction with caring for all of them.

@maximax8 Whenever I get to have a big salary, I will probably be so paranoid haha I have been poor all my life, so has my mamma, so has my grandma. So I would like to think I would be so reckless but I would just look at a credit card and be like...What do I do with this? Though...I would be so tempted to adopt a lot of animals haha

@dodo19 I have one of Dave Ramsey's books. I will soon hopefully get one of Gail's books. I just read about someone doing the jar thing. He took the money out once a fortnight. He found it hard to put the exact right amount of money. He had $62 for food, $66 for transport, $22 for clothes/gifts, $33 for entertainment and $33 for other. I would need more money for food than he did.

I think all those financial advisers are good but people must stick to a plan.
