National Police Woman Day Video Games Day 1846 - Elizabeth Barrett elopes with Robert Browning. 1940 - Cave paintings were discovered in Lascaux, France. 1952 - A bright object is seen in the sky in Flatwoods, West Virginia, and then a monster is sighted. 1943 - Maria Muldaur was born. She is an American folk and blues singer. "Midnight at the Oasis" (see below) was her bit hit. 1944 - Barry White was born. He was an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer and composer. His two biggest hits: "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" and "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe". He had 106 gold albums, 41 of which also attained platinum status. He sold over 100 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. 1978 - Ruben Studdard was born. Maria Muldaur is in the United States and is still performing. She has a website mariamuldaur.com if you want any particulars. Her birth name is Maria Grazia Rosa Domenica D'Amato.
