Another one of my murder mysteries, let this serve as your disclaimer.
Mr. and Mrs. Simon reported their daughter missing on the 25th of December 1980. Carol, their art student daughter, had been unreachable for two days. Her folks visited her apartment, but it appears they did not find anything of suspicion.
On December 30th, 1980, Mr. Harrasse, a researcher, found the mutilated body of a female. It wouldn't be until January 5th that the body was identified as Carol Simon's. Her body had been submerged in a solution that dissolved the majority of identifying markers.
Three suspects were brought into question. One being her own boyfriend, but he was cleared after two interviews. Another lengthier interviewed was done for an American Researcher, he had been seen carrying two trash bags similar to what the body had been found in. He was cleared and shortly thereafter moved back to the States. A third suspect was a former researcher who visited often, his new role was that of a security officer, similar to the same job Carol's boyfriend had.
No one was ever charged, and there is very little to be found about the case today. I've merely read through the reddit post on this, and haven't done my own research as of yet. I'll drop the link to the reddit article for those curious.
Personally, the American is the most obvious suspect, but then he could have been set up, or he could have been merely an accomplice.
What say you?

I like the thrill of solving them. I've thought about subscribing to a murder mystery sub box I came across once, thought it would be fun.

I do too. Especially if they are older mysteries when forensic technology was very new. This one was from the 80's, so I think that someone in the police force was just being lazy

@ScribbledAdNauseum Or maybe the Police hides some of the evidences.

@JustBhem I'm not sure that they would have a reason to do that, but anything is possible.

I think the former researcher. That seems likely to me.

Yes, I mean if he was always in the building, he wouldn't look so out of place. Plus, he had to know the ins and outs of the building. His new job as security probably helped him stay undetected, and he could have still had a badge to pass security, or had the use of a friend's badge.
