What went wrong with movie Zero

Sometimes, an actor or a director puts his heart and soul into making a movie that will go beyond people's expectations, that gives them the feeling that this movie will take cinema to the new level and will be one of the best movies of their career and will most probably be a huge box office success.
With all the hype for more than a year, the movie releases and it just bombs...like a colossal disaster, it gets thrashed by critics as well as audience.
I finally happened to watch that movie on Netflix recently, and my honest feeling after watching the movie...it is not that bad ...was this movie misunderstood..
I like to watch good stories, and this movie really tried showing something unique...it was about celebrating imperfections...
I am happy that I did not miss watching this movie, just because it got thrashed on box office..thanks to Netflix.

i can understand what you want to say, i think they give rate to a movie according to collection mostly. they don't give much importance to the story which i think. there are many pitcuers who are of a small budget but they are good. recently Sahoo hit i think because of the collection but people not happy with the story.

@avi256 yes everyone choice is different and people like a different kind of movie so they not take interest much in that thing which they not like.i have seen many prabhash movie in telugu. i am disappointed with him in bahubali. all though stroy is good but his acting still not suite according to his previous movies which my opinion.most of my friend said me he was awesome like that people opinion is different. its good you seen now and you are like it.

@birjudanak I had not seen Prabhas before Bahubali...so obviously I liked him...but the movie Bahubali was itself so great that any actor would have got benefit from it.
Now coming to Saaho, the problem is not Prabhas, but the direction.
Also am not SRK fan, but I appreciate that he is trying out different subjects, I think with Zero, they must have learnt lot of things for future, that not just big budget or hard work on VFX, but also screenplay needs to be fine tuned too.

I actually did not watch Zero that time because of negative publicity and criticism.
May be if I had watched the movie with huge expectations, I would have got disappointed.
I was just wondering, if people thought it was some sci fi movie or movie physically disabled people...however it actuually was a beautiful love story.

I watch Hindi movies less as my Hindi is not laudable. I am more accustomed to English movies. But, I know Shahrukh Khan very well. To see one of his movies performing abysmally at the box office is, by no means, a pleasing sight. I cannot believe that an actor of Shahrukh's stature could be at the receiving end of a flop.

Yes, and moreover the movie that was his one of ambitious projects, being rejected must have been tough on him.
Sometimes, a movie falls under the weight of its own expectations.
May be they could have edited the movie well, may be they got carried away.

I've never even heard of this! I did watch the 10 part series "What/If" on netflix---Rene Zellweger as a cold hearted you know what! Very melodramatic and fun in a way though the zinger didn't zing!!
