Readers on the River is a signing...well I call it a convention. There was 22 authors as one backed out at the last minute, they did panels as well as signings. The first day was Friday. On that day we had a JR Ward and Christopher Rice interview. They were so funny together, even my husband laughed. After that we had registration to get our Swag bags and attendee badges. There was the Sparkler that night, that was where we got to meet and take pictures with all the authors. I got a ton of pictures, needless to say lol. Saturday was the busiest day of the two. It started at 8am with a coffee social. They had cookies and starbucks coffee while we waited for the panels to start. There were two panels per hour. So I could only sit in on two but they were with it. The first one I sat in was Alpha-tude and the second was Misbehaving Characters. I recorded them both but Facebook doesn't want to upload them. Not nice Facebook lol. They provided an awesome lunch and after JR Ward answered a bunch of questions around the room. After that was the actual signing. It was very well organized but the probability of getting to see all of the authors were slim. I cried in one line because I didn't think I would get everyone to sign the canvas that was gifted to us and the few books I had left. Then I cried because my husband actually got my last few signed. Yes, my husband who doesn't read, doesn't really do the whole people interaction thing, actually got out of standing in line with me to go to three authors to get both books and my canvas signed. Without him I wouldn't have been able to get do this at all but he really went that extra mile for me. The whole signing portion lasted until 5:30 and then everyone went to go chill before the after party at 7. It was 80's themed and it was also a celebration of JR Ward's birthday. My husband and I didn't stay too long because, honestly we were exhausted from that whole day and the bass from the live band was crazy. I walked in with a headache and walked out after about a half hour with a migraine. All in all it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it again. Maybe the next theme will be 90's lol. It was actually my husband's idea to go back again but this time he wants to take a few extra days and stop at some places along the way. Taking 65 up, there was a lot of things we could have done if we had had the time to stop. I would definitely recommend going if you can save the money to go. It's held in Louisville, Kentucky and will stay in September. *image from google*
