It’s Kind of Surreal

I was looking through my memories on Facebook and noticed comments, very encouraging comments from a friend who sadly passed away in February of 2017! It was a hard blow because the month prior my good friend had lost her nine year old son to Neuroblastoma, and Abby our poodle had died a couple of years ago,
I am not saying this to be depressing but to remind you all what a gift our friends and loved ones are!
Time moves so quickly at times and yes sometimes it seems surreal but when you look at the words of one who has been called to God, you realize just what a blessing they were!! The person I am speaking of helped me through a very difficult time, and I will forever be thankful for that!

I have always thought that God sends the right people at the right time into our lives for very distinct reasons. Sometimes those people remain in our lives for very long times, and sometimes God snatches them back again. We just have to be grateful for each and every relationship we have, knowing that it can all be gone in the snap of a finger.

I definitely see what you are saying and agree with you, but watching my friend loose her nine year old son was the most gut wrenching thing I have witnessed!

Yes, it sometimes jarring to see a rememberance of them...and realize they are gone. I got something in my email this morning that my cousin's husband was having a birthday..she has passed away now about 2 years ago..it was strange seeing it.

I agree. Last month, on Facebook, it said that it was my deceased sister-in-laws birthday. I went to her page and just remembered how sweet she was and what a blessing she had been. I am so glad her husband and daughter left her profile stay on Facebook as a Memorial to her.

We are here for a short time, what they say is true here today gone tomorrow, life Has no guarantee.
I hate losing loved ones at any age, and I have had friends pass too at early ages. None is easy.

In the current world we live in with this virus, many families unfortunately lost people and it has to be heartbreaking. I am trying to survive here in NYC right now. And I heard that there are these White Supremist groups out all over trying to infect people with this deadly virus. They are mainly targeting Cops and Jewish people. How screwed up is that. Wow. This country is so sad right now. This maniacs need to be captured and jailed right away. I know how fragile our lives are. I survived cancer and a heart attack. Now we have a virus that is killing thousands. What will be next? Why don't we have a government that is taking responsibility here? Answer, greed. But I hope everyone here is safe and keeping their family members safe as well. Protect yourself and others, stay at home.

@Michellekidwell Good. We have many good people in this country and the workers on the front line are putting their lives on the line every single day. We should all be grateful for them.

Definitely a sad and scary time we are living in, but thankfully I find strength in my Faith, I will be praying that those who are doing that get the justice they deserve...

I thank God everyday and really do appreciate all the people who I have come to recognize and learn from here at myLot. Yep. Faith in God is what works for me. I am not in competition with anyone on social media who believes in whatever or whomever they believe in. The loss of a loved one or a friend or a pet is truly a devastating loss and it is painful to feel. My wife is my best support system but of course, many here have been very kind and for me, it really does matter.

Loss is always difficult. When I lost my mother, about ten years back, I had a hard time coping. She had been ill for a long time and it was a blessing for her to pass, but it was difficult for me. Especially since I had to be the one to tell the fire department to not attempt to revive her. We (my mother and I) had spoken about this possibility and she had been adamant about her choice.
I often think of her and wish I could call her just to talk. I will always be thankful for what she gave to make life easier for the two of us. (My father had abandoned us when I was eleven.) It is hard to believe she's been gone for a decade now.
