Is the French language still prominent?

Once, French used to be the most signficant and meaningful international language. It was the first language for dozens of Europeans. It was the language of diplomacy. Things changed drastically after the emergence of English. Has French lost its glory?

All North African countries and some Central African ones (the former French colonies) have French as their first foreign language.

It's hard to tell. I think English is significant language. I do speak French. I learned English and French since I was born. I learned the languages from my parents.

I love French. I know French a lot. I hope that there will be revival of French one day.
