Day 56 Promise 85 Deuteronomy 2:7 For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knows thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. Is your life full of hardship or blessing? Or have you experienced both hardship and blessing? Israel was in the wilderness for forty years. In that time, they experienced both hardship and blessing. Hardship when they disobeyed God and felt His anger toward them and blessing when they repented and turned to Him. Do you feel as though you have been in the wilderness wandering from place to place not knowing where your life will lead you? God led Israel with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He never left them for a single moment. When they went to war, He was with them and brought them victory. He was there for them and they never lacked anything they needed. You might be in a wilderness right now. You might feel like you are wandering without purpose or direction. However, if you are a Christian and trust God to lead you, He will bring you through the wilderness and give you a place of blessing and prosperity. As Christians, you can look back at your life and see how God led you and blessed you. It’s hard to see your purpose and direction when you are in the middle of the wilderness. However, there comes a day when you realize the wilderness is behind you and your blessing is in front of you. For the children of Israel, their blessing was the land of Canaan, their inheritance promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, their fathers, and they were ready to lay claim to the land. Are you ready to lay claim to the promises God made to you? Do you see the path laid before you? God promised to lead you and never leave you or forsake you to your enemy, Satan. He promised to give you everything you need for the journey. Just as Israel didn’t lack anything on their journey through the wilderness, so too, God will give you everything you need. All you need to do is trust and believe. God will do the rest. Let’s pray: Father, Your promises never fail. You kept every one of them to Your children. I am Your child, and Your promises are mine too. Help me trust You to lead me and prosper me in the way You already provided for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
