A few months left for Christmas

Mylot friends in a few months we are at Christmas and in my family we talked today about the things we plan to do. We know it's still too soon but we still talk about making some cakes, cookies and meals. Now my question is what do they usually eat or do at Christmas? Or what traditions do they have according to the country where they live?

In India the Christians celebrating the Christmas eat cake and locally available meat on the occasion of the Christmas! In India they go to Church and have carols at the midnight in the well decorated Churches on Christmas!

@andersonc , Just like the people they have in England, as India is a common wealth country and was ruled by Britisn for centuries in the past! So the Christians they adopted all the styles by the British in our country!

In England we put a Christmas tree up in our lounge or living room. We decorate it with lights and baubles of different colors. Some people sing carol songs on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day we give presents out to our family members. I eat a vegan diet. Meat eaters in England eat turkey at their Christmas dinner. Some vegans eat a nut roast. When I was a child on Boxing Day we visited our aunt and great uncle.

@andersonc Yes, we can create some Christmas tree decorations. We might make our own Christmas cards. Sometimes we can use Christmas wrapping paper for something special.

I know people who have a different meals every Christmas, but our family tradition for many years is the same menu: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, sweet tea, and lots of desserts.

@andersonc Yes, the kids and grandkids usually come on the 23rd or 24th and we have our big dinner Christmas Eve, then we all open gifts together on Christmas morning.

For my family... the normal of traveling to the country side to meet my granny and cousins is all I look forward to. The only change we will have this year is my cousin getting married n so the in-laws will be visiting n that means lots of work for us as it’s not the ordinary visit... the have to bethrow the girl in the traditional way.

Yeah right. My mother also likes to vary some types of food every year but what is never missing is the Christmas food of my country. In your country what is the traditional food?
