Notes On Edgar Allan Poe

I read the saying once that art should comfort the disturbed, and disturb the comfortable. I thought that was a pretty interesting take on the subject.
The saying is credited to Banksy.
Immediately when I think of the saying, Edgar Allan Poe comes to mind.
Edgar Allan Poe is famed for being brilliant in the literary arts, yet it was also known that he was psychologically disturbed as well.
A lot of his work is dark, which bothers people a lot.
He poured many of his own fears and such into his work, maybe it was his way of trying to exorcise them.
It was also a refuge for him in a life filled with tragedies.

I didn't know that Edgar Allan Poe had mental challenges. It explains a lot.

At times, sorrow, sadness, depression makes one write better poems and stories. Even I have written a few poems when in stress and worried.
