1789 - The 1st United States Congress adjourns.
1885 - The first practical public electric tramway in the world is opened in Blackpool, England.
1939 - Larry Linville was born. He is an American actor. He is best known for his role as surgeon Major Frank Burns in the television series M*A*S*H. He stayed for 5 seasons and then decided to pursue other roles.
1942 - Madeline Kahn was born. She was an American actress, singer, comedian and voice actress. Some of her movies: What's Up Doc?, Young Frankenstein (see below), High Anxiety, History of the World Part 1, Paper Moon, Blazing Saddles. She died in 1999.
