Dreams

Last night I had a bizarre series of dreams. I was half asleep laying in bed, then suddenly I was going down the street in what I thought was my neighborhood, but it was different. I was driving, and couldn’t figure out exactly where I was and where I was going anyway, I pulled over, to get out of my truck, and read a street sign. Suddenly, I realized I was nude to. I was really upset, I couldn’t remember why I left my house, and started to go somewhere, I didn’t know where, and, why was I nude. I was paranoid the cops would come and arrest me as a pervert. I figured out it all didn’t make sense. I then woke up, in my bed, and was happy to be home. Suddenly, I was back in that strange area of my neighborhood. It’s an old neighborhood, with old houses, and lots of run down yards. I’m behind a well maintained stucco building, in an alleyway, and I smell somebody nearby is smoking meat. I think how good it smells, and wonder what the building is for. My dog is down in a window well, and I’m trying to get him to jump out. For whatever reason, I cannot resolve the pet/windowwell thing in my head, I’m walking around the front of the building, to see what business’s are in it. It’s like a strip mall of Dr’s offices in appearance, but I see no signs. There is a kind of wooden arched building with white smoke pouring out the front, I immediately go over to see what’s inside and congratulate the chef/smoker. Sitting calmly inside is a quiet and attractive young woman, dressed nicely tending to the fire. My sister is in there, I’m trying to talk to them but they don’t seem to hear me. My sister disappears, and the woman tending the stove finally acknowledges my presence. I ask her, “Is that Pork?” At some point during the trip around the strange building, I talk to two unrelated women I’ve known from my past. I can’t remember who they are, I notice that they are wearing clothes, and I’ve gone from being nude, to wearing a sheet around my waist. I’m starting to think this isn’t just a dream, and stranger things may be happening. Now, back in hut with the smoking stove, the woman tells me with a grim look, “It’s not pork”. I suddenly know, “you’re cremating me”. She replied in the affirmative. I knew this would happen someday, and it explains a lot, I thought. I mentioned, “what’s going on? I filled out a card where I donated my body to research, but that doesn’t mean they’ll accept my body, It could be too smooshed, or, they might be unable to use it” The woman tending the fire said nothing, and I woke up. Relieved to be still in my bed with my dogs at my feet. This isn’t the first dream I’ve had where I died, or was dead, but they are rare. This dream is also unusual because I remember so much of it. Have any of you had dreams where you died, or were dead? I know no crematorium in my area looks like this building, and I know they’re built so as not to smell like a smokehouse. I don’t necessarily consider this dream an omen of my death in the near future. Google say’s dreams where the dreamer dies, indicate the dreamer is due for profound change in their life, like the Death Card in the Tarot. What do you think?

@jprtist I do not blame you for waking up and finding yourself at home. Dreams can be very weird. Do you dream the same dream with other things in it a lot?

@Hannihar I think some dreams, are really our lives in a different, or parallel, universe. I don't have any proof of that, but it's the only way I make make sense of some dreams. I have a series of dreams where I'm in my home town, but a section of the town if very different than other parts which are much like the town I'm writing from now. These strange sections of my alternate town(s), are consistantly similar from dream to dream. I've had this sort of dream that covers two different towns I've lived in.

not sure I understand your question. I have repeat dreams, where I'm in a strange location I only know in my dreams, but, the place doesn't seem to be anywhere in my waking world.

I'm not sure how old you are @jprtist but it sounds like how Dementia or Alzheimer's patients feel. They remember certain, places, people and smells from the past. Conversations you have that make no sense.

I didn't undertand this post at first. I thought you were telling me my posts made no sense, and were insinuating I had a mental defect of some sort. I apologize if I misunderstood your post.

@jprtist Oh no, no, no! I have similar dreams. A lot of them have been a pretext of something to come. I once had a conversation with someone in a dream and 20 years later, I met that person and the exact words were spoken. Since we only use roughly 10% of our brains capacity (geniuses only use 20%), who knows why we dream what we do.

this is a very long dream and you remember all the transistions. I do have weird dreams but they don't really happen in real life.

It's a very weird dream you had. I'm one of the people who believe that dreams have meaning and they sometimes can impact the real life.

I hav no idea but usually within a day or 2 I see the meaning. I am the number one freak of the dream world and can remember so many of them.

That's a very disturbing dream; but I don't think it means that you're going to die. I have some bizarre dreams but have never dreamed of my demise. Do you have some possible huge changes coming in your life?
