Day 59 Promise 88 Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; 10 And repays them who hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him who hates him, he will repay him to his face. How many faithful people do you know who keep their promises to you one-hundred percent of the time? Moses told the people of Israel God was faithful. He kept His promise to them and brought them out of Egypt. He showed them mercy and love and would do so to a thousand generations. It might seem that God’s love has limits. Consider there haven’t been a thousand generations since God made that promise. God’s faithfulness is limitless. God also showed He would repay those who hate Him and destroy them. How many people do you know who died an early death who stood against God? God’s judgment is swift to those who stand against Him and will not relent but will try to cause others to reject Him and His love for them. God knows your heart and intentions. He will not allow anyone to slander His Word without retribution. However, because He knows your heart and intentions, He also knows whether you will stand against Him or will turn to Him. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV) Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (KJV) As Christians, you know what it took for you to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, to listen to a message of His love for you, and repent of your worldly ways and embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is love. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He who believes on him is not condemned: but he who believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Nobody knows who will accept or reject God’s love. Therefore, you are to tell everyone you know and meet about God’s love and let them accept or reject Him. Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your patience. Thank you that someone told me about Your love and forgiveness, Your judgment and mercy. Help me spread Your love to everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 1 October 2019 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay. Only topic-related comments, please.
