How would you handle gout?

Gout attacks not only old but also young people. I heard people complaining about pain in the joint. They cannot move it as it is too painful. Do you experience the pain somewhere in the body? What do suspect it is?
If you think it gout that causes the pain, what will you do about it?

Gout can be prevented by drinking plenty of water because water flushes out uric acid through the urine.

@yanzalong no I don't think there's any way to treat it other then to avoid the foods that trigger it.

I have heard that eating a salad of radish will reduce the uric acid.
