We had a really wonderful evening yesterday. We support Samaritan's Purse, a Franklin Graham ministry and were invited to a reception in a city near us.
If you're not familiar with him, he's Billy Graham's son and is the head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse.
The venue was stunning and we had some lovely hors d'oeuvres, then a short talk by Franklin Graham.
Afterwards, there was a concert at the Fair Grounds with Jeremy Camp, a contemporary Christian musician, followed by a message by Mr. Graham. We decided to skip the concert when we saw how long it would take in traffic just to get into the fair grounds.
It was a wonderful gesture of appreciation for supporters of the ministry. Samaritan's Purse helps people in need all over the world. They have mobile hospital clinics that can be deployed and set up in any place in the world in about 24 to 48 hours. They share the good news of Jesus Christ by helping in disasters wherever the need arises.

It sounds like you had a lovely time; and Samaritan's Purse sounds like a worthy cause.

One part of Samaritan's Purse is the Christmas shoe box. People and churches around the world pack Christmas gifts for children, then the shoe boxes are distributed in many parts of the world.

I love that it helps so many in need and also helps them hear the good news about Jesus.

I have always enjoyed Franklin Graham, but I was not aware of these events he's putting on around the country to help Samaritan's Purse. I hope the ministry is able to raise the funds it needs to continue helping people all over the world.

The events are similar to the crusades his father Billy Graham held.
