Look at the Leaves Day 1789 - George Washington proclaims a Thanksgiving Day for that year. 1863 - The last Thursday in November is declared as Thanksgiving Day by President Lincoln. 1941 - Chubby Checker was born. He is an American rock and roll singer, songwriter and dancer. He is best known for popularizing The Twist (see below) with the song of the same name. He also introduced the Pony with Pony Time. Two other dances were the Limbo Rock and The Fly. 1969 - Gwen Stefani was born. She is an American singer, songwriter, actress, fashion designer and record producer. She is co-founder and lead singer of No Doubt. Some of No Doubts singles: Just a Girl, Spiderwebs, Don't Speak, Hey Baby, It's My Life.
