California Dreamin' - The Mamas & the Papas

Another one of my favorite groups and songs is California Dreamin' (below) by The Mamas & the Papas. They were an American folk rock vocal group from 1965-1968. The group was comprised of Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot, Michelle Phillips and John Phillips. They released 5 albums and 17 singles and sold more than 50 million records worldwide.
Cass Elliot had a successful solo career after the demise of the group. She died in 1974 of heart failure at the age of 32...another amazing artist who died before her time.

I think Cass was way to over weight is likely why she had the heart problem .Very sad
