Saving money regularly

Today I read that the bank reduced its interest from 5% to 2.75% interest. I am really shocked. It allows payments of 300 a month. I began mine earlier his year and will be able to get 5%. However new customers don't. I am trying to save up to buy a second hand car. Do you like saving or spending money? Does your home country offer regular saving accounts?

@maximax8 When I have money in my pocket I prefer not to spend any of it but there are times we have spend things. My bank charges for depositing as well as withdrawing money.

@Hannihar When I am overseas almost all of my debit cards charge a fee. That is because it is a currency change say from Euros to UK Pounds. I also don't know why they charge for putting money into your account.

@maximax8 I can understand for withdrawing but when someone puts money into their account I do not know why they charge. I cannot go to another bank so stay there. You are welcome. I try to save more than I did before. We need the money and it seems like there are lots of expenses lots of times.

Wow that is quite the decrease. I would love to be able to save some money. However, things are tight for us at the moment. So, we're not able to save, sadly. Hopefully, soon we'll be able to get things a little more under control, and we'll be able to start saving more.

Canada is quite expensive. I know the child age for a train in 2 years old. Good luck with saving some money in the future.

@dodo19 I hope that you will be able to travel more. I did a lot of traveling this year and it has cost a lot of money.

I don't understand why the regular saving accounts have made their interest rates lower. Thanks for saying sorry about this.

We have a regular savings account with interest which I being it’s a 3.57 not a 100% on that it might be lower then that. We like to save and spend. I actually have an app that takes small pocket change out without making my account go dangerously low. Normal suck a small amount that it goes unnoticed. Then we also take a few dollars out in cash out in our physical banks at home. This comes in hand if we do get low and need like food money or gas for the cars.

Shy Bear I think that 3.57% isn't too bad an interest rate. I love the idea of the pocket change app. If it only takes out small amounts you will hardly notice.

@maximax8 it’s set to take small amounts and that’s what it’s designed to do. I also have it set if my bank account goes below a certain amount it isn’t allowed to take any money unless I personally add in the money myself

I do put a lot of extra money into a high yielding savings account. Our interest has risen since the virus hit. I enjoy spending money, too. lol

I am glad that interest rates have risen after the virus hit. In England most interest rates have been cut for all the regular saving accounts.

Wow! 5 percent is a great chunk of change though. Glad you were ‘grandfathered’ in to that so to speak. My banks pay even less than 2% interest in saving accounts but i am not that great at saving anyway. Lol

I like saving money it is a necessity. Good luck with getting a car Maxi. You will get there if I know you. Oh that is a pity they reduced the rate.

Blimey! Where are you getting 2.75%? I'd kill for that never mind 5%.
