A high speed chase of a stolen pick up truck in Findlay Ohio

If there is one thing I find it hard to understand is that when a criminal steals a pickup truck, the chances of escaping when being pursued by the state police in America will end in a disaster and a capture. A 29 year old named Joshua Gilliland allegedly stole a pickup truck in Findlay Ohio and had the Ohio State Highway Patrol pursue him all the way to Toledo. What could have made matters worse is that a nine month baby girl was inside the stolen truck which forced the police to proceed with caution to capture him when during a spike strip on Interstate 475 blew out his tires which forced him to stop his pick up truck and try to flee from the police before a police dog took him down. Joshua faces a lot of charges ranging from kidnapping to assault of a police officer among other charges. I just wonder if did he know that a baby was inside his pickup truck at the time of the car stealing incident? The good news is that the baby girl was reunited with her parents safe and sound which is a good thing since the worst case scenario would have been that a young baby girl would have met a tragic end in a high speed chase in Ohio on Saturday evening.

I guess the car robber stole the pickup truck by threating the parents of the pick up truck to back off when the robbery happened.

Oh! It would have been a scary incident for the baby and the family. But all is well that ends well. Glad that the baby is safe. But how come she was there in the truck??

My guess is that the alleged carjacker may have told the parents of the child to back off and let him steal the truck or else they would regret trying to stop him not knowing that a child was inside.

I can imagine how worried the police were for the baby girl's safety. He was such a silly man for steeling the pickup truck. I am delighted that the parents got back their baby daughter.

I agree with you since the police had to deal with the trick thief with delicate gloves.

It would have been a very tragic story if the child was harmed during the high speed police chase on Interstate 475 in Ohio.

@Deepizzaguy That is not good news that a baby was in the truck when it was stolen. I am so happy that the baby was reunited with her parents and was safe too.

Since the case is being investigated at this time, what likely happened what the car thief may have surprised the parents of the child and stole their truck without giving the parents a chance to get their child of the van.

I am very happy the baby girl is safe. It makes me wonder where the father or mother was that the person could steal the truck with her in it. I'm glad the man is in custody and the situation didn't come to a tragic end for all.
