As you may have heard, PG&E had plans to take a pre-emptive strike against the possibility of wildfires by shutting off the electricity to many high-risk areas through a large swath of the state. This many hoes and businesses did not have electricity and may still not have it.In my part of San Jose, which is near the Guadalupe River and not near hills,we still have power.People in Alum Rock and other hilly areas may not have power. We have a house in Plymouth and the power is off there,so we went there and took all perishable food out of the fridge, and brought it to San Jose. There was a container of ice cream that was at milkshake stage,so we ate most of that before we left.

@amitkokiladitya Yes.In california it is supposed to prevent wildfires, but PG&E admitted their own line caused one fire.

This is all because of shoddy power lines that burst into flame because Jerry Brown didn't enforce rules due to paying off PG&E for their campaign contributions. This situation is all because of corrupt politics.

Well, PG&E had problems before Brown took office, like the pipeline explosion in the neighborhood that killed some people, including a PUC member.

@JohnRoberts I agree that action should have been taken.

@Aquitaine24 That's why action should have been taken. Brush wasn't cleared away and the wire ignited fire. It was Brown's responsibility to force clearing that brush. It is known he owed PG&E.
