Going for a picnic on a deserted beach accessible only by boat raises a problem - toilets. Every few days I sail out with a load of tourists, maximum 12, and we swim, picnic and lie in the sun for up to three hours, so what happens when nature calls? The answer is that once a week I do a run out to the beach with a cargo of chemical toilets rather than tourists. There is a ladies rock behind which a toilet is placed out of view and another rock where a similar facility is installed for gentlemen. The rocks in question provide the only privacy, but since there are only 12 people (and me) I give instructions about toilet etiquette as we land and it all works quite well. There is also a tank of water for hand washing, and once a week when I take the toilets out to the beach I collect the used ones, bring them back to the dock, and I empty them into a septic tank provided for yachts. Simple.
