Day 70 Promise 99 Deuteronomy 29:10 Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, 11 Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: 12 That thou should enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God makes with thee this day: 13 That he may establish thee today for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; 15 But with him who stands here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him who is not here with us this day: People make promises to individuals and to groups of people. Politicians make promises in campaign speeches to everyone, and people hang on those promises and expect them to fulfill them when they get in office. Yet, when elected those promises go unheeded. God made promises to His people, Israel, and told Moses those promises weren’t only for those who stood before Him at the time He gave them to His people, but they were for all those who weren’t there that day when Israel was on the verge of stepping into the Promised Land. As Christians, you can embrace all the promises God gave His people. God said they were for you too. Before they crucified Jesus, He prayed for the people who were with Him and He prayed for those who weren’t. John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gave me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. (KJV) Every promise, every action God gave to His children, He gave to you who believe and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. God was with Israel in the wilderness in the cloud by day and the cloud of fire by night. Today, God dwells in you and you are one with Him. His presence is constant in you. As Israel was never without God’s presence, neither are you. Does God dwell in you? Is He with you wherever you go? Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your promises which are yea and amen in me. Let Your presence be in me and go before me every day of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 12 October 2019 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay.
