A New Jersey high school cross country group gets a lift from Delta Airlines

A group of 80 high school cross country runners from Ocean City New Jersey are very thankful that despite a minor setback that happened in the airport in Philadelphia Pennsylvania when their original flight from Philadelphia to Orlando Florida was cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control. Thanks to the students learning how to use social media, they managed to get the attention of officials of Delta Airlines to play the role of pinch hitter since Frontier Airlines was not able to take them to Walt Disney World to participate in a cross country meet that was scheduled for the weekend. The incident happened on Thursday. The catch was that the earliest flight that Delta Airlines would be to provide a special flight to Orlando from Philadelphia would be after midnight on Friday. The Delta Airlines flight which used to serve as a special flight took off from Philadelphia around 3am and arrive at Orlando at 5am on Friday which the cross country team was more than happy to take since it would wasted their efforts to raise funds in their hometown to have their dream sports event go down the drain. It is nice to see Delta Airlines serving the needs of a high school cross country team from New Jersey to make their dream come true to visit Disney World. Three cheers for Delta Airlines for going the extra mile on their service to their passengers in a pinch hitting role to borrow a baseball phrase.
